Cheryl Lumsden

I have been training at Golds Gym now for around 20 months. Since I started my weight loss journey in 2008 I have lost 60kg. I love going to the gym and the staff have been great. It hasn’t been easy and is certainly hard work but it is all well worth it. I have tried losing weight before but the big difference this time has been the exercise and the unflagging support of my personal trainer Donald who has been there all the way and continues to support and motivate me. Our sessions are always great and he mixes it up to continually challenge me.

 

Last year I completed in the 4km Mothers Day run in Parramatta Park this was a huge personal achievement for me as running was something I thought I would never be able to do. This year's goal is to complete the 8km course. I think the biggest issue for weight loss is wanting to do it and having the desire to do so, it is hard work but let's face it if you want something bad enough you will put in the hard work to achieve it. I have never felt better and at 47 lfeel healthier then I did at 27. I can't believe how much energy I now have. I am living my life now rather than seeing it pass me by.

 

Cheryl's Top Tips

  • Commit to your scheduled gym sessions
  • Get yourself a set of earphones, turn up your favorite music and the time will fly
  • Remember we are only human and do make mistakes
  • Your mind is the most powerful muscle you have. When you want to give up, keep telling
  • yourself you can do it and you will.
